Race aims to raise awareness about suicide

November 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

To eliminate some of the myths regarding suicide in Costa Rica is the goal of a sporting event to be held on November 27th.

This is “Click in life, not suicide” race, led by Rescatando Vidas Foundation.

The event is free and it will begin at 7:30 a.m. The 6-kilometer race will start at the National Children’s Hospital (HNN) and the 2-kilometer walk will start at Dr. Erick Rojas Clinic, in Paseo Colón.

During the event, some companies with information booths, mixed music and hydration for participants will participate.

In addition, from one p.m. a concert with the Costa Rican group Ivoire will be held at the end of the race.

Sylvia Álvarez, psychologist from the Foundation, declared that they are asking participants to use yellow and green clothes. The first color represents the movement of suicide prevention and the second color represents hope.

There will be prizes for the first 3 places of the race.
