Red Cross actives plan due to lack of rescue teams in Ipís

October 27, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The lack of rescue teams at the local committee of the Red Cross in Ipís Goicoechea prompted the Ministry of Health to issue a health order, which requires at least two members of the Red Cross to participate in response to emergencies.

The order came after it was found that between September 29th and October 20th, ambulances were manned only by the driver.

According to Willam Barrantes, General Director of Health, this is a violation to the norms established by the ministry.

Upon notification, the Red Cross activated an operation to deal with emergencies that arise in Ipís and immediately coordinated with the closest committees.

We requested collaboration and assistance from the committees of Moravia, Coronado and Montes de Oca to provide the necessary assistance to the committee of Ipís in case of emergency. All committees are one and tomorrow the committee will work with a new rescuer,”

said Gerald Jiménez, spokesman for the Red Cross.
