Red Cross: “Do not forget the victims”

October 8, 2017 by Staff News Writer

This photograph, published on Saturday after the match between Costa Rica and Honduras, sparked a series of reactions in social networks.

But more than that, it seeks to bring all the fans who celebrated Costa Rica’s victory back to reality: there are thousands of Costa Ricans who lost everything and need that enthusiasm to translate into donations.

The Red Cross of Desamparados urged people to continue helping. You can take donations to any Red Cross committee across the country.

Until Saturday at 5:00 p.m. there were still just over 11,500 people in shelters. They were affected by the Nate Storm in several areas of Costa Rican territory.

In addition the following bank accounts (client account) are available to make your monetary donations:
• National Bank of Costa Rica – 15100010011001007 (colones)
• National Bank of Costa Rica – 15100010020686665 (dollars)
• Bank of Costa Rica – 15201001017600333 (colones)

Luis Guzmán, deputy director of National Risk Management and Emergency Response, stressed that the aid can be taken to 121 committees, where they will receive the 4 kits they are asking for.

Watch the video to know more about the kits and how to prepare them.
