Residents of La Carpio frightened firefighters

January 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

According to Luis Salas, director of Fire Operations, what happened at LA Carpio was something never seen before: a group of neighbors frightened them while they were assisting an emergency.

At about 1:00 pm they received an alert for a gas leak in a house, when they went to the scene, two vehicles closed the exit where the fire truck was and asked them to leave.

The firefighters requested the officers’ help to be able to leave.

We are worried that in the future we will have to handle an emergency situation and these people may interfere with our work. They did not give us reasons, they did not talk with us, and they only asked us to leave. However, we will not be intimidated by these individuals,

declared Salas.

According to Salas, they will now coordinate with the Public Force to enter the area, as it is quite conflictive.
