After an investment of 2 billion colones, the Council of National Roads (CONAVI) completed the roadworks to restore the Chiquiza passage in La Cangreja and La Chonta areas on the Interamericana Sur route.
Due to the mudslides and landslides that cut off the passage in 2015, two points of the road required urgent restorations.
In La Cangreja, 100 meters of the road were blocked by the landslides.
As for road in La Chonta’s restoration works, at kilometer 53, the slope stabilization was reinforced and gabion walls were constructed.
