Route 415 in Turrialba will remain closed

January 18, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The weather conditions have taken their toll on route 415 between San Martin and Guayabo Abajo de Turrialba. The large amount of rain caused a collapse, which prevents the transit of vehicles.

According to the MOPT emergency chief, David Meléndez, the road had been in poor condition for five to six years.

Cracks, falling materials and land distorted by the overflow of rivers are some of the visible consequences that threaten the safety of passers-by and drivers. These are the most dangerous routes:
• Route 36: From Limón to Sixaola
• Route 126: Vara Blanca
• Route 414: Turrialba and Grano de Oro
• Route 805: From Route 32 to Matina
The authorities warn to abide by the recommendations of the authorities and not going through these routes.
