Scarlet macaw in captivity was rescued

On Monday afternoon, officers of the Public Force of Alajuelita rescued a scarlet macaw kept in captivity in a house in the sector of La Chorotega, in Alajuelita.

According to Francisco Cordero, deputy director of the Public Force of San José,

during patrolling procedures, the endangered bird was observed and so they proceeded to confiscate it.”

The hierarch indicated that the animal was in good condition and given to the herpetological wildlife refuge of Santa Ana.

There were no fines for those who had the bird in the house.
