Seven out of ten Costa Ricans rate the work of the government in the last quarter as bad, while only 8% say they have done a good job and 19% say they do what is necessary.
The data are derived from the latest Consumer Confidence report, published by the UCR.
In the last three months, the negative perception of citizens increased from 63.3% in May to 71.1% in August. Even more dramatic is the comparison of August last year with this month: in 2018 the negative rating of the government was 42.3%.
This is the fifth rating of the current administration and the difference in favorable and unfavorable responses in this period shows increasing negative balances, ranging from -28.7 to -63.0 percentage points, so it can be stated that this assessment continues to deteriorate.
