Several Members of the Government’s Cabinet have quit

December 12, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The resignation of deputy Minister of Labor, Harold Villegas, was the latest in a long list of departures from cabinet members from Luis Guillermo Solis’ administration. With Villegas, there are already 21 officials who left, taking into account only ministers and deputy ministers.

After two and a half years, most of the departures have followed situations tinged with controversy, as it happened with Villegas days ago.

According to political analyst Daniel Calvo, who closely observes the movements in the Cabinet, the constant resignations could be due to the lack of reliability among the teams’ members in the ministries.

9 ministers and 12 deputy ministers have quit so far.
