Solis’ decision concerned exporters

September 22, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The decision of President of the Republic Luis Guillermo Solís, to abandon the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) at the beginning of Brazilian President Michel Temer’s speech, concerned the export sector, that considers this may affect the trade between both countries if Brazil decides the closure of the market or the imposition of non-tariff barriers that could difficult the entry into the Brazilian market, as explained by Laura Bonilla , president of the Exporters Chamber of Costa Rica (CADEXCO).

Bonilla also said that she doesn’t understand the President’s purpose and his entourage if the Brazil’s political actions are supported by its Constitution.

Costa Rica’s trade with that country exceeds 21,1 million dollars and among the most exported products there are medical prostheses, vulcanized rubber joints or gaskets aluminum scrapings, needles and catheters, cannulae and other medical instruments.
