Solís is confident on favorable ruling in The Hague

June 29, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On July 3rd and 4th, Costa Rica will defend its position on the conflict with Nicaragua before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

President Luis Guillermo Solís feels confident with the work done by the legal team and believes there will be a favorable ruling in favor of the country.

Costa Rica is calling for a resolution on maritime delimitation with Nicaragua, both in the Pacific and in the Atlantic, and also on the military post located on a beach in Isla Calero.

I have the highest expectations about this situation. I think we have a solid case, the team was very dedicated,”

said the president.

Solís hopes for a happy ending to this conflict, which has already taken several years and many chapters.
