Solís on abortion: “I don’t see why we have to involve the Pope”

June 1, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The legislators who went with President Luis Guillermo Solis to visit the Vatican, delivered a letter to Pope Francis to urge the president not to favor abortion.

Solis acknowledged that the action “caused surprise” because it is not a regular mechanism used to convey the concerns of legislative bodies.

The president stated that the only policy on abortion he favors is the existing one.
