Some companies requested more time to join the electronic-invoice system

March 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Ministry of Finance started using the electronic invoice with a group of five large companies, an amount that will gradually increase.

Some companies located in this category have requested a time extension to join the system.

Alejandro Montalvo, of the GS1 Electronic Billing Committee, confirmed that this request was made to the authorities because there are companies that are not ready to implement the mechanism.

Fernando Rodríguez, Deputy Minister of Revenue, explained that these requests do not affect the implementation of the system, which will integrate 10 more companies in April.

The integration process is expected to be completed within the next 18 months.

It was reported that there are individuals who have expressed their interest in joining electronic billing, which makes authorities think that the deadline could change.

For those people or companies interested in moving to the electronic invoice system through companies that have such technology, the Ministry’s recommendation is that they verify if they have the software required by The Tax Office and to check if their connectivity is effective.

In this regard, Minister of Finance Helio Fallas said that everything is going very well, as planned.
