Strike promoted by ANEP in SINART is illegal

On Monday afternoon, the Labor Court of the First Judicial Circuit of San José reported that the strike in the National Radio and Television System (SINART) was declared illegal.

According to Judge Katherine Ramírez, “in accordance with the provisions contained in articles 60 and 61 of the Political Constitution; 5 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary; 15, 371, 375, 376, 377, 381 of the Code of Labor, as well as the aforementioned international regulations, the strike promoted by the National Association of Public Employees (ANEP) in SINART is hereby declared illegal.”

The Labor Court also condemns the ANEP to pay one million colones. The union will now have three business days to appeal the ruling.

With this, there are already 13 sentences against the strike.
