Subject wanted by US justice was apprehended by the Interpol

A 36-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday morning by agents of the National Central Office of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) in the sector of Heredia. He is wanted by the United States government for the crime of drug trafficking.

According to the first investigations, the Colombian subject had a red notification in the Interpol system since 2016.

The authorities arrested him at around 11:00 am in the Cariari sector of Heredia when he was traveling in a vehicle.

The 36-year-old man was placed under the orders of the Criminal Court of the First Judicial Circuit in San José.
