Take your scarf! Trade winds and isolated rains are expected this week

December 19, 2016 by Staff News Writer

This week starts with a considerable increase in the trade winds. These conditions are due to a high pressure system in the Caribbean Sea.

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) forecasts that rainy conditions will prevail in the Caribbean and North areas during the morning. That pattern will especially increase in the afternoon and evening.

In the Central Valley and Guanacaste, winds are expected to reach maximum speeds of 80 km/h, with little chance of rain.

In addition, in the Central and South Pacific, isolated rains are expected during the afternoon.
