The Autoferia was suspended!

January 31, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Carlos Aguilar, director of the Association of Importers of Vehicles and Equipment (AIVEMA) reported that The Autoferia Fair that was scheduled for February, was suspended due to La Platina closure.

Due to the traffic congestion that is causing the extension of the bridge over General Cañas highway, we decided to suspend the event,

declared Aguilar.

According to the director, this decision was made after several companies affiliated to the association requested it, as vehicular traffic is not allowed to Pedregal facilities in Belén.

Aguilar added that they are also thinking of the best for the consumer, who is affected everyday by this situation.

10 million dollar will be lost due to the suspension of this fair. However, organizers expect to reschedule the activity over the course of the year.

It is a very important issue, not only for the association and the participating companies, but for the Costa Rican tax authorities,

declared Aguilar.

The Autoferia was scheduled from February 1st to February 5th.
