The biotechnology sector created a group that aims to improve Costa Rican exports

The biotechnology sector launched a “cluster” or a group that brings together more than 10 organizations with the goal of joining efforts and improve business in Costa Rica in order to be part of the international markets. The group was launched at the 2016 Biotica event.

Biotechnology is a technology applied to biological processes and it is widely used in agriculture, pharmacy, medicine, environment, food science and power generation, among others.

This sector aims to promote strategic alliances and production chains, attendance at international, bio-business events, training on issues such as intellectual property, financing, valuation of intangible assets, regulatories, workshops and activities that intend to improve the business area, legal support , among others.

The consortium involves efforts from the public and private sectors, and it is composed of the Technology of Costa Rica (TEC), the Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER), BioTD, Speratum, Innovamarketplaza, Urek Biotechnology, Reuti Piña, Grupo Trisan, Carao Ventures, Lanotec and Bufete Arias & Muñoz and other founders who have volunteered.
