The FMF General Secretary talked about the Costa Ricans’ flags

March 31, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Costa Rica submitted a formal complaint to the Mexican Football Federation (FEMEXFUT) because some people threw Costa Rican fans’ flags at the Azteca Stadium entrance.

FMF General Secretary Guillermo Cantú referred to the issue on ESPN and he assured that they followed a protocol.

We received a letter from the general secretariat and we explained to them that the security process and protocol are carried out by the authorities and the organizers. We are aware of all the devices, but in our regulations, big flags are not allowed. We were told in Costa Rica that they would not agree to throw them in a basket, which is right and we will try to prevent that from happening again,

Cantú said.
