The following areas must be evacuated!

November 22, 2016 by Staff News Writer

President Luis Guillermo Solís ordered the immediate and mandatory evacuation of Delta Costa Rica, Calero, Las Barras de Colorado, Parismina, Tortuguero and Boca Tapada.

According to Solís, the evacuation must be carried out immediately, as the biggest crisis is expected to be on November 24th and November 25th: storm Otto is just 400 km away from Limón coast.

The meeting point for citizens from Las Barras del Colorado is Puerto Lindo; residents of Barra del Tortuguero must go to Pavona and citizens from Parismina have to go to Caño Blanco.

Ombudsman Monserrat Solano asked citizens to give priority to vulnerable populations: the elderly, children, women.

Similarly, President Solís summoned the country’s emergency forces.
