The PANI will start an investigation against the 7 children’s legal representatives

March 21, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The 7 children who were alone last Friday during a fire in Desamparados are now under the custody of the PANI.

Although the institution initially said that there was no negligence in this case, it will now initiate an investigation against the children’s legal representatives because, hours after the fire, they were left alone again.

On Saturday night, after the flames consumed many of their belongings, the PANI gave a bed to one of the children, because he has a disability.

According to Fanny Cordero, PANI spokeswoman, when authorities arrived in the place, they realized that the minors were being taken care by an older adult, who seems to need someone else to take care of her.

That is why the PANI took them to a shelter and they were later separated and taken to different places to be assisted.
