The pending tasks in the last year of Government

December 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Despite the fact that 2017 is an election year, the Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of Private Business Sector (UCCAEP) hopes that this does not gridlock a series of urgent projects.

On Tuesday morning, the organization took stock of 2016 and its expectations for next year.

The fiscal situation is one of the remaining tasks of the government of Luis Guillermo Solís.

UCCAEP expects the reforms to public employment and expenditure restructuring should be promoted.

The government should take advantage of the availability of a large group of legislators who are putting aside their political interests, to promote the processing of projects,”

said Pacheco.

On the issue of infrastructure, the institution points out the need to reform the National Highway Council (CONAVI) or to create the National Institute of Road Infrastructure (INIV).

There is also the matter of the need to simplify the red tape and improve the services of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

An improvement in the human talent is also expected, with actions such as the adoption of the bill on Dual Education, and expanding and improving the entry requirements for programs in the National Training Institute (INA).
