The Red Cross needs bags!

November 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

In addition to food and hygiene products, the Red Cross urgently needs large and thick bags and sacks to prepare kits that are being sent to places affected by Hurricane Otto.

The Committee of Santo Domingo de Heredia is requesting bags or sacks, as they have many supplies in its facilities but they need to put them together to send them to Upala, Bagaces, Los Chiles and other areas impacted by the natural phenomenon. They tried to buy bags on November 27th, but everything was closed.

The institution is putting together 1 food package and 1 hygiene-product package to be directly delivered to the families affected by the hurricane.

They even asked people to donate a complete kit and those who donate individual products can come to an agreement with others to send complete packages.

Each package of food contains one liter of oil, 6 kilos of rice, 5 cans of tuna, 4 kilos of sugar, 1 packet of coffee, 8 packages of coke, 2 packages of beans, 12 units of biscuits, 2 liters of milk, 1 box of butter, 5 packages of pasta, 1 packet of salt, 2 cans of sardines, soups, sauces, dough, oats, flour and seasonings.

On the other hand, hygiene kits contain 5 units of toilet soap, 1 packet of soap powder, 5 toothbrushes, 1 toothpaste, 1 packet of sanitary towels, dishwasher soap, 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 packet of diapers for children and another for adults.
