The study of the judicial pension system will include a legislative text on the pension fund

November 14, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The actuarial study on the Judiciary’s pension system, conducted by the University of Costa Rica (UCR), will include, for analysis purposes, a legislative text on the pension fund for the Judiciary Power that is under discussion in the Legislative Assembly.

Max Soto, director of the Institute of Actuarial Sciences at the UCR, explained that with a new scenario, it is possible to modify the contractual terms by means of an addendum that guarantees the inclusion of the legislative text.

The Judiciary’s pension system was the focus of discrepancies between legislators and magistrates. However, in the end, the Full Court established that legislators would make a decision about the possible cutbacks.
