The Union from the Ministry of Labor is worried for the alleged closure of 11 offices

December 22, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Union from the Ministry of Labor accused the alleged intention of closing 11 offices, located in marginal areas of the country.

Franklin Benavides, Secretary General of the Association of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (AFUMITRA) said that the closure endangers inspection and reconciliation offered by the institution in Nandayure, Nicoya, Upala, La Fortuna, Golfito, San Vito, Naranjo, Orotina, Puriscal, Guácimo and Bribrí.

However, the Ministry of Labor declared that, so far, it has not closed any regional office. In addition, there is an agreement between the union and Minister Carlos Alvarado and it states that if the reorganization of the regional offices involves a partial restructuring, they must make consultations with the Ministry of Planning (MIDEPLAN).
