Starting on March 1st, the General Direction of Road Education of the MOPT will enable the registration for the theoretical driving course for illiterate people. The course will take place in April in San José, San Carlos, Limón and Guápiles.
The MOPT will offer people who have not passed the second cycle of elementary education (sixth grade) the possibility of accrediting themselves as drivers through a training based on their needs.
In addition to the contents, tests are conditioned to make it easier for users to answer them: this assessment will allow to define if they are prepared.
The course for illiterates costs ¢ 5,000, and it extends for 1 month. During this period, the interested party must attend 2 classes per week and then present the theoretical test, which has no additional cost.
April registration can be made during March by entering www.csv.go.cr website or by calling the following “call center” number: 900- 0101010.
On the first day of classes, the interested party must present a certificate issued by the corresponding Regional Directorate of Education, to prove that the person did not complete primary studies, as well as the receipt of payment of registration fee, issued by the national banking system and an identification document.
If you are a foreigner, you must present a Certificate from the Ministry of Education of the Country, which is certified by the Consulate and Embassy of the country of origin, indicating your condition of incomplete studies in primary school. Likewise, the interested party must sign an affidavit provided by Road Education.
