There’s strength in numbers: three groups, one movement

July 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Three groups decided to join forces and created the Movimiento de Convergencia Cívico Nacional (National-Civic Convergence Movement). Their slogan is “there’s strength in numbers”

These groups are Foro x CR, Ya no más RECOPE and No a los privilegios y abusos de los sindicatos costarricenses (No to privileges and abuses from Costa Rican unions).

The movement was declared apolitical and its members explained that it was born after the undeniable, widespread discontent of civil society regarding Costa Rica’s political, social and economic reality.

For a while and thanks to social networks, citizens have increasingly realized that our State needs great reforms. They have joined to different fora and movements in order to express their discontent; but we are all contributing with ideas and real solutions that benefit public services’ users, taxpayers and society in general,

explained the movement.
