The luxurious house that a Panamanian suspected of money laundering was building in La Guácima de Alajuela, valued in at least 1 million dollars, will remain in the hands of the Costa Rican Institute on Drugs (ICD).

According to the Public Ministry, the property consisting of an extensive land lot and the house under construction, was raided on December 7th by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) and the Office of the Deputy Prosecutor against Organized Crime (FACDO).

Following the investigation, the authorities suspect that a Panamanian named Welch Sevillano, who is being held in La Reforma criminal center, set up a money laundering network along with 2 Costa Ricans, one of them a lawyer.

Welch fled Panama after escaping from prison where he was serving a sentence for murder and he was arrested on December 17th, 2015 in national territory. Since then, he has been waiting for his extradition.
