June 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Sunday morning, more than 4000 beginner and advanced runners participated in the 6th edition of the Dos Pino Milk Race in the categories of five and 10 km.

The start and finish of the competition took place on the east esplanade of the National Stadium, where participants could enjoy various activities in the framework of the celebration of World Milk Day, including a concert with the national group La Kuarta.

Rodolfo Villalobos, Operations Director of Grupo Publicitario, indicated that the weather helped a lot and also acknowledged that the registration process was a success. The race had three hydration posts along the route as well as 27 control points.

This year, the winners of the first place in the category of 10 km for men and women repeated the triumph of the fifith edition of this race.

The elite Guatemalan athlete Luis Carlos Rivero was again the first place in the men’s 10km category with a time of 32:38, 1 minute and 22 seconds more than last year’s race.

Luis Quesada Pérez won first place in the 5km men’s category with a time of 15:32 and Ana Vega Vargas won the first place in the women’s team with a time of 18 minutes.

In addition, in order to have an inclusive race for all the social actors, Dos Pinos started the category of Tricycles for people with special abilities.

Heidy Arias, a neighbor of Escazú, was the winner of this category and the first woman to cross the finish line.
