Threats against US ambassador were made from a computer

November 1, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The threats against the life of Sharon Day, ambassador of the United States, were made from a computer the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) found on Thursday in La Union, Tres Ríos.

The judicial police informed, through an official communiqué, that the threats were made on September 7th. They came through a site of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In the raid, the authorities arrested two men who were listed as suspected of carrying out the threats. The operations began around 6:00 am, when the agents entered a house located in Tres Ríos. In addition to the computer, important evidence was found.

Sharon Day, 66, is an ambassador in Costa Rica since October 2017. She’s an experienced member of the Republican Party of her country, where she held various positions in the structure of the organization.

Before coming to Costa Rica, she lived for several decades in Florida and has played different socio-political roles in Broward County. She is the mother of two children and grandmother of five grandchildren.
