Top Resa Tourism Fair will benefit Costa Rica

September 20, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) and 17 tourist companies are getting ready to attend the Top Resa Tourism Fair in France, which is considered one of the most important business meetings around the world.

The event will be held from September 20th to September 23rd, in The Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. The fair has been celebrated for almost 40 years, and it gathers more than 30,000 professionals from 160 destinations.

Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism, explained that this year Top Resa Fair is very important for the country, because Air France direct flights will begin on November 2nd.

France is the third largest generator of tourists to Costa Rica from Europe. Last year, almost 90% of French people who visited Costa Rica did it by air. In addition, 54,773 arrivals were recorded, which represented an increase of 10.2% compared to 2014.
