Toucan was rescued in Puntarenas

Officers of the Public Force carried out an unsual rescue in Monte Verde, Puntarenas.

They received a domestic violence report from a farm in San Luis, and they found a toucan that was injured and could not fly.

The officers had to walk about 500 meters inside the property and while doing so, a person warned them about a strange sound coming from the bushes.

As they got closer and checked what they heard, the officers found the bird, which was trying to move, but could not fly.

The agents, in addition to taking care of the initial report, also requested help to be able to take the toucan to a safe place.

After putting the bird in a safe place, they talked to other authorities to find a proper shelter for the animal that was later transported to the Center of Sustainability located in Guacimal, Puntarenas.
