Tourist almost died in kayak accident in San Carlos

July 2, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Around noon on Sunday, the Red Cross received an alert through the emergency line 911, due to a water accident in the sector of Santa Clara, in Florencia de San Carlos.

When arriving at the scene, the rescuers saw a man, apparently a foreign tourist, suffering a cardiopulmonary arrest.

The rescuers worked several minutes to stabilize the man and later took him to the Ciudad Quesada Hospital.

The man was with several people practicing Kayak on Sunday and the reasons for the accident are unclear.
