Traffic regulation in Paseo Colón will begin tomorrow

December 13, 2017 by Staff News Writer

As part of the preparations for the Festival of Light, platforms will be placed on Paseo Colón from December 14th.

According to Juan Rodríguez, deputy head of Police Operations of the Traffic Police, this could bring “traffic problems” on this route. It is advisable to take alternative routes.

In addition, during the night of Friday and Saturday morning the floats that will parade will be parked next to La Sabana Metropolitan Park, which could also complicate traffic.

Finally, all of Paseo Colón and Second Avenue to 11th Street will be closed from 12:00 noon on Saturday until dawn on Sunday.

If you have to travel to the east of the Central Valley, the recommendation of the Traffic Police is to take Avenida 10 and Avenida 7.

During the event, Rodriguez said, drivers are also advised to be cautious about the considerable increase in pedestrian traffic in downtown San José.
