Train accidents were part of 2016

January 4, 2017 by Staff News Writer

2016 left new train services and a pilot plan that took the railroad to dozens of communities for most of the day. However, cars crashing the trains were also part of this process.

The past year left 5 deaths. In addition, 24 people were run over in situations in which a train was involved.

Many of the accidents and deaths were consequence of drivers’ carelessness and pedestrians walking near the railroad and even on the railway while using earphones. This is a wake-up call so that you are alert to the passing of the train. You must remember that you are not only putting your life at risk, but also other people’s lives,

declared María Fernanda Arias, INCOFER spokesperson.

120 crashes on a train were registered in 2016.
