Truck loaded with cocaine was busted

March 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Sunday, officers from the Border Police and the Ministry of Public Security intercepted a truck in La Gamba de Golfito (south zone), carrying a cargo of cocaine.

As confirmed on Monday morning by the Press Office of the Ministry of Public Security, the contraband was hidden under a false floor in the vehicle.

The agents of the Border Police immediately coordinated with the Drug Control Police (PCD) to take over the case.

The vehicle was a Nissan driven by a man named Aguilar (40), resident of La Cuesta de Corredores, who has a record for breaking precautionary measures.

After field tests were performed by agents of the PCD, the authorities of Public Security confirmed the confiscation of 35 kilos of cocaine. The drug packages had the Adidas logo.
