Turrialba volcano had a very active Sunday

If ash continues falling in the Central Valley, do not be surprised.

According to the National Emergency Commission (CNE), Turrialba volcano continued its eruptive activity on Sunday.

A report released on April 2nd, at 5:00 p.m., indicated that the material column rose up to 500 meters from the crater.

Due to the wind direction, some communities were affected by the emanation of ash. Some of them were: Coronado, San Jerónimo, Granadilla, Guadalupe, Ipís, Moravia, Tibás, Desamparados, Alajuelita, San José, Pavas, Zapote, Curridabat, Tres Ríos, San Pedro, Sabanilla, Escazú, Santa Ana and Heredia.
