Two tourists were rescued after kayak accident in Caldera

December 26, 2018 by Staff News Writer

A group of officers from the Coast Guard Station of Caldera rescued two tourists who had a kayak accident due to a leak in their gear.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in front of Paseo de los Turistas in Puntarenas, near the sunk Italian ship Fellain the Gulf of Nicoya.

The coastguards took the two vacationers, named Vargas and Araya, to the shore in Puntarenas.

The constant patrols that the National Coast Guard Service is carrying out on the busiest beaches in the country continue to yield results.
