Uber enables option to tip drivers

July 18, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The private transport application Uber enabled an option which allows the user to add an extra payment to the travel fare which will be allocated for the driver as a token of appreciation.

According to Uber, this is optional and can be done up to 30 days after the trip was made.

It is simply another way in which you can thank the Collaborating Partners that offer you a great experience (…) The amount you add to your trips is exempt from service fees; this means that Uber will NOT charge your service fee on this amount and will be fully added to the earnings of your driver,”

said the company.

Also, the user can choose between three predetermined options or give a personalized amount.

More than 22 thousand people provide the service of private transportation of people and thus obtain their income. In addition, about 7 thousand people who work as drivers in Uber have university studies, almost 10 thousand completed high school and about 3,700 have only completed primary school. A lower percentage, 2%, does not have any type of academic training.
