Unionists ask for resignation of CCSS actuary

May 15, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A group of trade unionists from the National Association of Public and Private Employees (ANEP) requested the resignation of Luis Guillermo López, actuarial director of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

In a letter signed by the trade unionist Albino Vargas, Secretary of the ANEP, the group blames the official for an increase of one percentage point in the quotas paid by the workers of the country to the social security institution.

We warn against the obvious intentionality of the Board of Directors to support those responsible for this blow, starting with the Actuarial Director of the Fund, who continues in that position despite his unobjectionable direct responsibility in this matter,”

assured Vargas.

ANEP also called other union forces to coordinate a single date to demonstrate in the streets against the decision of the board of directors of the CCSS.
