Universities and entrepreneurs unite in search of innovation

August 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A group of entrepreneurs and representatives of universities joined in the program “Click to Innovate” with the aim of strengthening the processes of automation and digitization in the national territory.

The project belongs to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) and also contemplates the development of energy and environmental strategies.

Last week, the first session of “Click to Innovate” was held in San José. In total, more than 50 companies and over 50 researchers from the engineering sector participated.

The next edition will be in November in the province of Limón.

A high-to-medium income country like Costa Rica needs to strengthen its innovation capabilities in order to continue to develop. Therefore, the innovation ecosystem needs to be able to facilitate collaboration between knowledge-generating actors and those who know how to identify and realize market opportunities,”

said David Bullón, Director of Innovation of MICITT.
