Urban birds offer multicolored show in Desamparados

April 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

José Pantaleón

On Saturday morning, different bird species wore their colors in the second edition of the Urban Bird Festival, which took place in the Park La Libertad in Desamparados.

Lidia Noches, spokeswoman for the event, commented that they were very satisfied because they have been able to observe rare species, which indicates that the reforestation of the Park is paying off.

It is the first time we see the rainbow bird,”

said Noches.

La Libertad Park is becoming the permanent nest of many species. By 2016 there was an increase in the number of visitors.

It is estimated that around 102 bird species live and migrate in the 32 hectares of the park, a figure that only reached 88 species years earlier, according to data provided by the organization.
