US Embassy will be closed on Tuesday

If you have paperwork to do at the US Embassy, please note that it will be closed on July 25th.

As reported, the closure is due to the July 25th celebration of the Annexation of the Nicoya Party to Costa Rica.

The Embassy and Consular Section will open again on Wednesday, during normal hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Next Tuesday, the country will commemorate the 193 years of the Annexation and, as each year, the locals prepare different cultural activities.

For example, the 2017 Cultural Festival of the Annexation started on July 20th in the Recaredo Briceño Park of downtown Nicoya, with a varied program for six days of cultural activities.

It will be dedicated to the late Nicaraguan singer-songwriter Donald Juárez Obando. The program of the celebrations includes performances by folkloric groups only from the province of Guanacaste in the square of the Park in front of the colonial Church of San Blas.
