Vaccination period reached 93% of the population

July 23, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Vaccination Day initiated by the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) in June ended this Friday with 93% of the target population vaccinated against influenza viruses.

A total of 1,193,741 people were vaccinated, according to the cut done in the morning hours of Friday. Maria Eugenia Villalta, medical manager of the CCSS, commented that the coverage achieved was successful and demonstrates the interest of the population for this protection.

Dr. Villalta said that this period thought them the need to improve the coverage of the cardiac patients population that this year was in red. The idea is to analyze why they did not come to the call as the other target groups.
