Vice President of the Court on sanctions against magistrates: “The issue is not resolved”

Carmenmaría Escoto, Vice President of the Court, said that the issue of the sanction imposed on the judges of the Third Chamber for dismissing a case related to the cementazo, is not resolved. She said they will soon know the results of two review resources presented by the National Association of Investigators and Criminalists (ANIC).

The Full Court agreed to modify the order of the day’s agenda to hear the requests for review presented by the ANIC regarding the written reprimand against Carlos Chinchilla, until today President of the Court; Doris Arias, President of the Third Chamber, Jesús Ramírez, magistrate of the same Chamber; María Elena Gómez, alternate judge and pensioner, and Celso Gamboa, former magistrate who was fired.

Román Solís, magistrate instructor of the case against the magistrates and who described it as a serious offense, indicated that these review processes are legally accepted in administrative cases.
