Victim of rape and child pornography receives psychological help

May 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The nine-year-old girl who was raped to record videos and upload them to the Internet now is receiving psychological guidance to help her overcome the trauma she has experienced for more than three years.

Fanny Cordero, a spokeswoman for the National Children’s Patronage (PANI), said that during yesterday’s raid, they took both the girl and her 13-year-old brother. They both remain in one of the shelters of the institution.

We now initiate psychosocial and legal intervention to try and locate family resources, evaluate them and see the possibility for them to stay with family members, but for now they remain under our protection until there is progress in the investigation,”

explained Cordero.

According to the spokeswoman, the girl is stable and several medical tests were performed to analyze her health.

The case was made public on Tuesday after Interpol issued a child pornography alert that was being carried out in Costa Rica.

The girl is in a video that got to Europe through the deep web.

Apparently, the subject named Rojas had Internet skills and a close relationship with the minor’s parents, who even allowed him to supervise her. He rented a room in the house of the girl’s parents.
