April 26, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Picking waste left by humans in nature is always a good action and you can do it too on April 27th.
For the sixth consecutive year, “Manos Unidas por el María Aguilar” will carry out a clean-up campaign on that river and in four sectors of the Greater Metropolitan Area between 8:00 and 11:30 am, with the participation of volunteers of all ages.

The activity will be carried out in the east corner of the Seminary College, 200 meters to the south, or from the rear entrance of the Centro Comercial del Sur, 200 meters to the United Nations Neighborhood, 38 avenue, 15th street.

At the cleaning point located in La Unión, the activity will be carried out in Quebrada Pato Azul in the sector of Calle El Poró. In Curridabat the cleaning will be done in Parque El Prado, while in Montes de Oca, the brigade will begin by collecting the waste from the train line behind Plaza del Sol to Parque El Prado.

The requirements to be part of the cleaning equipment are: a bottle with water, rubber boots or, completely closed shoe, comfortable clothes, hat, leather gloves or similar and sunscreen.

This initiative is led by Ecology Project International (EPI), the Municipality of San José and the Local Committee of the María Aguilar Interurban Biological Corridor made up of Ecological Blue Flag, and National Institute of Housing and Urbanism.
