What’s people’s profile when looking for a job?

March 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Better informed people, interested in a better remuneration and professional development… That’s the profile of candidates who are looking for work.

In Costa Rica, 18% of people who are looking for a job are those who make a research about companies, usually through websites, social networks or referrals of friends.

In addition, compensation is positioned first as a factor that people, who are looking for work, take into account as they want to be competitive in the labor market and to maintain their lifestyle.

The second factor is professional development, which means the growth that the person can have within the organization as part of their personal and work fulfillment.

Likewise, Costa Ricans are looking for companies that generate tranquility, challenges and that allow them to grow within the company.

At the global level, the most important factors consist primarily of compensation, followed by the type of work, as well as flexibility.

In addition, it was verified that the candidates are now more informed about the companies and the conditions they offer to its collaborators.

This was presented by “The other side: preferences and global motivators in the search for employment” study, conducted by Manpower Group Solutions for Latin America, which took into account the opinion of 14,000 people aged 14 to 65 years old looking for a job. It was carried out in 19 countries, including Costa Rica.
