September 3, 2019 by Staff News Writer

A video recorded the exact moment when heavy rains and gusts of wind knocked down power lines in the vicinity of Paseo de Las Flores shopping center in Heredia.

The images were shared by the Public Power Company of Heredia (ESPH) through its official communication channels.

As can be seen, based on data from the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), wind gusts reached about 105 km/h.

As a result of the situation, several sectors close to the central canton of Heredia had no power for several hours on Sunday. For example, sites near the National University (UNA), Miraflores, Bajo Los Molinos, Santa LucĂa and Mercedes Norte.

The rainy conditions, typical of this time, could be repeated during the afternoons.
