Yet another false bomb alert

September 14, 2017 by Staff News Writer

At 5:15 on Wednesday afternoon, police authorities had to activate the emergency protocol due to an alleged bomb. This time it was in the Courts of Justice of Heredia.

According to Carlos Barrientos, officer of the Municipal Police of Heredia, after receiving the alert, “the security officers of the Court gave the order of evacuating the place. After that, the facility was cordoned off 100 meters and the way for both pedestrians and vehicles was closed. Finally, at 7:30 p.m., the explosive detective dogs searched the building and found no threat of bombs, so the alert was suspended,” said Barrientos.

The operation was carried out with eight municipal police officers, four Public Forces and prison staff.

Apparently, the false alarm happened because there was a trial for a conflict between neighbors and the sentence was to be issued at 5 p.m.”
